Stress management that fits real working life.

Practical, evidence-informed ways to handle pressure — one-to-one coaching for individuals and workshops for teams, in Kampala and online.

Stress isn’t the problem. Stress without recovery is.

Some pressure is part of any meaningful job, and short bursts of stress can even help you focus. Problems start when the pressure never lets up and there is no time to recover. Over time, that ongoing stress can affect your sleep, your health, your relationships and how well you work.

Common signs of stress

  • Trouble falling or staying asleep
  • Headaches, tight shoulders or an upset stomach
  • Feeling irritable or short-tempered
  • Finding it hard to concentrate or make decisions
  • Feeling “always on” and unable to switch off
  • Pulling back from people and things you usually enjoy

Five things you can start today

Small changes, practised regularly, make a real difference. These are a good place to begin:

  • Breathe slowly for one minute. Breathe in gently through your nose and out for a little longer than you breathed in. It is a quick way to settle your body when pressure rises.
  • Take short breaks. Step away from your desk or screen for a few minutes between meetings or tasks.
  • Close your working day on purpose. Write down tomorrow’s first task, then switch off notifications.
  • Protect your sleep. Keep a regular bedtime and put your phone away before you sleep.
  • Talk to someone. Stress shrinks when it is shared with a friend, a colleague or a coach.

If stress is affecting your health or daily life, or symptoms don’t improve, please see a doctor. You can also book a free consultation to talk it through.

Questions about stress management

What is the difference between stress and burnout?

Stress usually feels like too much: too much pressure, too many demands. Burnout tends to feel like not enough: exhaustion, detachment and feeling less effective, after stress has gone on for a long time without recovery. Read about burnout coaching.

Can coaching help with work stress?

Yes. Coaching helps you understand what is driving your stress, and gives you practical tools and a plan that fits your work and life.

Do you run stress management workshops for organisations?

Yes. We run workshops for teams of any size, in person in Kampala or online, as a one-off or as part of an ongoing programme. See corporate wellness programs.

Are sessions available online?

Yes — in person in Kampala or online by video from anywhere in Uganda or across Africa.

When should I see a doctor about stress?

If stress is affecting your physical health, your sleep or your daily life, or if symptoms don’t improve, please see a doctor. Coaching can work alongside medical care.
